ITKNET is an International Network of institutions and experts on Traditional Knowledge, created during the Major Conference:
CLIMATE CHANGE, DESERTIFICATION, ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICTS AND MIGRATIONS
– An international Network of experts on Traditional Knowledge for a common strategy
that took place on the 28–29 June 2007 in Florence in the Sala Giunta of the Region of Tuscany.
The outputs of the Conference were:
– Organization and consolidation of ITKNET, the International Network of experts on Traditional Knowledge
– Proposal of operation and institutional strategy for the creation of the Centre for Traditional Knowledge .
The International Centre on Traditional Knowledge aims at further developing international cooperation in the field of traditional knowledge and strengthening the implementation of multilateral sustainable development and environmental agreements.
